  • Who do I call about trash collection?

    Household waste and recycling is collected by Republic Services. Call 972-422-2341 to report an issue with collection.

  • When is my trash day?

    Your collection day is based on your address. View the map to see if your collection day is Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

  • Where should carts be placed for trash and recycling collection?

    Carts should be placed with handles facing the house and lids opening toward the street or alley. Carts must be placed 2 to 3 feet apart and away from fences, cars, gates, mailboxes, meters or other objects that will obstruct the pickup arm.

  • Which cart is for trash, and which is for recycling?

    Trash carts are solid blue. Recycling carts are either green or blue with a lighter blue lid.

  • What time should I set my carts out for pickup?

    Carts should be in place at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day and no earlier than 5 p.m. the prior day. Carts must be rolled away from the street after trash is collected – no later than 6 a.m. the following day.

  • Can I put my trash in the cart without a bag?

    Trash should be inside securely tied plastic bags, and all bags should fit inside the cart with the lid closed. Recycling should not be bagged. Recyclable materials should be placed loose inside the recycling bin.

  • What if all my trash won’t fit with the lid closed?

    Pink tags may be purchased from the town for $2.32 each to be placed on excess bags that don’t fit inside the trash cart. Bags placed outside of carts without a town-issued tag will not be collected. One pink tag is required for each excess bag. Extra trash or recycle carts are also available for an additional $9.27 (plus sales tax) per month each or an extra $11.61 (plus sales tax) per month each for homes with carryout service. Extra carts may be ordered online.

  • Can I put paint or other chemicals out for pick up?

    Hazardous waste cannot be included with household trash. Please refer to the page about disposal of household hazardous waste.

  • What if I didn’t get my cart out in time for pick up?

    Call Republic Services at 972-422-2341 to schedule a pickup for a missed collection.
