Deferred Disposition is a 90-day unsupervised probation. You will be required to pay the full amount of the fine and costs at the time of the request.
Deferred Disposition Eligibility Requirements:
- A valid/current driver’s license or permit.
- Printed (paper) proof of financial responsibility or vehicle liability insurance in your name or with you as a listed driver
- A plea of “guilty” or “no contest”
Deferred disposition will NOT be an option in the following circumstances:
- You have been granted deferred disposition in the last 12 months
- You received a citation for a speed 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit
- You received a citation for a speed 20 mph or more over the posted school zone limit
- You received a citation and hold or held a CDL license at the time of offense
- You received a citation for speeding or other traffic violation in a construction zone with workers present
To receive deferred disposition, drivers younger than 25 must take a driving safety course.
Drivers with a provisional driver’s license will also be required to take an exam through the Department of Public Safety.
